1966 Ford Mustang

Title: 1966 mustang 289 tahoe tourquoise

Mileage: 0 miles

Location: Independence, KY

This is my 1966 mustang. I got this car about a year and a half ago from a friend.

Little history: My friend had car since early 80's. His daughter used it to go back and forth to school. Late 80's my friend decided to restore it. All sheetmetal was replaced with new, no bondo or patch work. Car has new fenders, doors, full quarters and floor pan. Everything was replaced with new if he even thought it needed it.

Exterior: The exterior was painted in base/clear and back to original color of tahoe tourquoise. The paint was put on in 1991 and still looks the same, again no bondo, rust, or cracks. The pics should speak for the body condition. I believe the hubcaps are original to car, my friend told me they came on it when he got it back in the 80's so he just put them back on, still in good driver condition.

Interior: The interior was completely replaced from carpet to headliner, front to back. The only thing the interior needs is a new package tray, not sure if they were offered back in the early 90's but that is only thing that I replace.

Engine/trans: Both also were rebuilt back in the 90's. The engine was rebuilt back to stock with only cam being changed. The 289 now has a 351 cam in it.

Car: Car runs good, pump the gas a few times and it starts right up. When I got it I changed the oil, antifreeze, belts, and plugs. Since the early 90's the car has probably only been out like 20 times and most all were to car shows. The car has been in a garage since the early 90's and hasnt been wet other then me washing it when I first got it. Car shows 50271 miles on it. I cant be sure but I would say it is really 150,271. Im not sure thats the original speedo head. The car since finished in early 90's has maybe 700 miles on it.

1966 Ford Mustang

Title: Mustang 1966

Mileage: 100,000 miles

Location: Crawfordsville, IN

THIS MUSTANG IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE. IT IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND DRIVES NICE. IT HAS A STRAIGHT 6 ORIGINAL MOTOR WITH A 3 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE INTERIOR IS BLACK WITH A FEW MINOR DEFECTS. THE TIRES ARE GOOD. BODY HAS A FEW PLACES THAT NEED WORK BUT THIS CAR IS BASICALLY RUST FREE AND STRONG. BRAKES NEED A LITTLE WORK. CAN'T GET IT MUCH SIMPLER THAN THAT.

1966 Ford Mustang Convertible

Title: 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible

Mileage: 0 miles

Location: Dothan, Alabama

Here we have a beautiful 1966 mustang convertible with it's original 289 V8 and 4 speed transmission. The car is painted it's original color of night mist blue with a white top and blue pony interior. The car has a very straight body with excellent lines and all new chrome and stainless. The top is also brand new and fits great. The complete interior has been upgraded to the parchment and blue pony interior including new carpet, door panels, and dash. The paint looks amazing with a deep shine to it. The engine starts right up and runs very strong and idles smoothly. The 4 speed transmission shifts great with no problems. The car also has power steering and radial tires. This is a very nice example of a true classic mustang that is a thrill to drive and enjoy. Let the top down and let the wind blow your troubles away. 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

Title: 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe
Mileage: 65,427 miles
Location: Chattanooga, TN

This is an original San Jose car, now in Chattanooga Tn. This is a rust free body, original 68000 miles! I have been restoring Mustangs for 30 years, and have gone all through this one, fresh numbers matching 289 original 2V, original automatic rebuilt. New driveshaft, new rear end ring and pinion. (I wanted the drive train to be smooth and vibration free) .New carpet, and door panels, The upholstery and headliner are original and absolutely perfect. A/C needed a new clutch, it blows cold and strong. Power brakes, all new shoes/drums. New wheels and tires, new windshield, new paint. This car drives 70 mph perfect and smooth, this is a pleasure to drive. I drive it to work a couple of days a week so it is meant to be driven. The vinyl top is the original top, not perfect but very nice, too nice to replace since it is the original. New drip rails and windshield trim. It has a great stereo. Everything works perfectly on this car. The interior is as nice as I have ever seen. The paint is not show quality but fresh and nice. New front grill and bumper.

I've recently changed the oil and replaced the two front wheel cylinders. The cars runs and drives well (but no power steering) and I have recently driven it on a 250 mile trip (mostly interstate) with no issues (but lots of attention and thumbs-up!). It needs hood hinges (which I ordered last night), weatherstripping around the trunk lid and the drivers side window does not want to stay rolled up tight. One of the aftermarket wheels has a missing centerpiece. Other than that I think its in good shape. There is no visible rust except for a few bubbles under the vinyl top. Paint is fair/good but I'm told it needs to be color-sanded and buffed. Underneath is in good shape with no rust through places, but it has not been refinished/painted. Engine uses no oil and does not leak (at least on the driveway) but there is some on bottom of engine. All interior lights and guages work properly. Radio is not original but dash has not been altered. Interior is near perfect as far as I can tell. No rips, stains or tears. Glass is all good. I was told when I bought the car that the odometer was accurate (and the title reads this way). The odometer now reads 65,427 but given the age of the car I am not sure that it is accuarate.

1966 Mustang Fastback GT

Title: 1966 Mustang Fastback Factory GT
Mileage: 124,319 miles
Location: Mission Viejo, CA

I’ve done my homework and this is a genuine FACTORY GT!

All the numbers are matching on this car.

Buck Tag (driver side fender under hood) says P10 (Factory GT)

VIN # 6T09A271878

Steering Box # HCG AW

Rear End # 3.00 6EA 931 (WCZ-F)

Engine Block # 6D20 C5AE-6015E
6D20 – Engine manufactured (cast) April 20, 1966

C5AE – 1965 Ford Galaxie casting (used in most models)

6015E – 289ci cast in Detroit, Michigan or Windsor, Canada

Door Plate # 63B R 66 O1G 13 I 6
Body: 63B - Fastback
Color: R – Ivy Green Metallic
Interior: 66 – Black Luxury Interior
Date: 01G – July 1, 1966
D.S.O: 13 – New York
Axle: I - 3:00-1, Limited-Slip
Trans: 6 - C4 Automatic

I purchased this car from Georgia. My first fear was that it would have rust. After flying back east and inspecting the car, I found NO RUST! It was owned by a guy who had a professional mechanic rebuild the engine to blueprint specs. I had it shipped to California as a project car in hopes of making it a great daily driver. Too many cars and projects kept me from completing this one. This car has excellent paint, all the windows are clear, and the frame is super clean and straight.

After getting the car home, I totally took the lower end apart and replaced it with:

NEW parts

8” limited slip differential with rear axle bearings & seals

Driveshaft (balanced) w/new “U” joints

1” drop front competition springs

Lower and upper A frames

Steering damper and tie rods

Front discs and rear drums

Fuel tank

Lower fuel and brake lines

Fuel pump

Complete rear exhaust system

All the dirty work is done! I’ve cleaned all the usable parts and all I need to do is assemble the rest of this GT. This car will be a beautiful street car! It will run true and steer perfectly.

The motor just needs to be “plumbed”

Interior has new carpets and new headliner

There’s still some work to do, but this is a solid investment

1966 MUSTANG FASTBACK GT

Title:
1966 MUSTANG FASTBACK GT SHOW CONDITION

Mileage:
100,000 miles

Location:
ANAHEIM

This is a beautiful TROPHY winning car. It is a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback with GT options. It is a rust free California car and has never been left outside in the weather or stored near the beach etc. It is a factory A code car [289 4V] with the original factory Kelsey Hayes disc brakes, 4 speed transmission and brand new Styled Steel wheels. The body is laser straight with no waves or ripples, it was block sanded to take out any factory waves. Even the rear quarter extensions and headlite doors were hand fitted and worked to match the quarters, fenders and hood etc. You can easily see this in the side photo of the headlite door. Notice how it perfectly matches not only the fender, it also matches the curve of the hood. You can look at all the other "show quality" Mustangs and you will never, ever see these parts match as well as they do on this car. This is one of the areas that are never addressed during a paint job because it is very time consuming and therefore very expensive to do. It also takes a very good body person to do it. The paint is high quality 2 stage PPG with lots of clear coat and it was color sanded to a show quality shine. It is a beautiful Saphire blue that glows like fire in the sun. All the weatherstrip and exterior chrome was removed and replaced with new parts. The motor doesn't smoke, it is balanced so it runs as smooth as new. There is no ring or pinion noise in the differential and the brakes and suspension are xlnt. The interior is xlnt and the engine compartment is detailed for shows. The car never runs hot even on a hot California day. It runs and drives xlnt and gets a lot of attention at local shows or where ever else it goes.

1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

Meet Lil'Stinger.........This is absolutely one of the finest inline six Mustangs in the country. It has been completely rebuilt and wins at every show it is entered. The detail in its construction was done very well. It looks, sounds and runs wonderful. In fact, it sounds like a 289 or 302. At shows it fools many folks!!! As an added bonus it was featured in a five page article in Mustang and Fords Magazine as shown below. Copy of the article is available upon request. The car as had larger wheels installed since then along with a Shelby Valance, and an exhaust change, but it’s still a good read.
It features beautiful screaming yellow exterior paint with flat black stripes, along with a factory looking vinyl top on a very straight body. All of the chrome and trim is in great condition. The custom interior is done in yellow and black to match the exterior with custom bucket seats from an early nineties Supra. It has a custom console and a great stereo in the glove box along with an amplifier and speakers in the trunk. There is a Vintage AC system mounted under the dash that will freeze you out even on the hottest days. All the gauges work as they should except for the gas gauge.
The engine is 200 inline six that puts out 211 HP at the rear wheels. We have the dynos to prove it. This is no ordinary six! The head is a new design that is produced by Classic Inlines in Mesa Arizona along with a new intake that has been jet hot coated to match the Hi-Po head. The rocker arms are 1.6 Hi lift adjustable along with custom oversized Valves and heavy duty springs to prevent valve float at higher rpms. The car was tested recently at Pony Carbs in Las Cruces New Mexico for an upcoming article in Legendary Ford Magazine. The first part should be hitting the news stands by the end of July. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to read about your new Stang and know that it’s in your garage now? The carburetor is an Autolite 4100 4 barrel that was installed by Pony Carbs. Check them out at http://www.ponycarbs.com/. The bottom end of the engine is basically stock, bored .60 over with a custom windage tray that was very carefully assembled and balanced. Chevy rod bolts were used instead of stock to keep things together at higher rpms. The timing chain and gears are stock; however the distributor and wires are custom made by Davis Unified, or DUI. You can read more about them and watch a video of this car on the dyno at http://www.classicinines.com/. The fuel pump is stock, along with the water pump. To keep the car cool it is equipped with a custom aluminum radiator from Griffiths. The header is produced my Pacemaker and splits out to duals all the way to Flowmaster Mufflers. It also has a front disc conversion from SSBC to help the car stop better. There is dual master cylinder but not a booster. The rear end is an 8 Inch from a later model mustang for the larger brakes and completely rebuilt for the car with 3.00 gears along with new heavy duty springs. The shocks are KYB’s for better handling. The front end has also been completely rebuilt with a kit from Mustangs Plus called “Grab a Track”
To make shifting smooth it has a T-5 from a later model Mustang. It keeps the rpms down for better cruising speeds. You can drive this car all day long at 75 to 80 but never get your RPMs above 2500.
It was painted about 4 years ago and has some touch up done since then. It shows very well. It has always won best in the driver class. The undercarriage is very clean but not show quality to the point of showing it with mirrors. It was built to be driven. There is no rust to be found on the car.
The wheels are the 17 inch “bullit” style with a set of Riken Raptor tires that have about 90% tread life left.

1966 MUSTANG COUPE 289

1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Starts and runs great has like new interior! This car is packed with extras - Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes and cassette player sound system. The car was originally a 289 standard transmission car and still has the all the emblems. The car now has a nice running 302 and C4 Automatic trans. This is really a Super Rare first generation pony car in great shape all around. This Mustang HAS MINIMAL RUST AND has been painted one time and is currently red. The original color was white! This Mustang drives out fine but the trans may need to be rebuilt as I notice it has trouble shifting into drive (first and second gear have no issues) and I would recommend a brake job on this one. This is Factory Air not dealer installed and is hard to find. This Mustang has her factory interior color of Black with pristine bucket seats with matching upholstery. She is a blast to drive! Come drive this coupe for yourself.
